NEWHOUSE - Theresa Marie, beloved partner of Christian (Kitt) Stringer and daughter of John and Carol Newhouse of Victoria and sister of Michael of Ottawa, passed away peaceably at Paradise Island in the Bahamas February 11, 2001 at the age of 28. Theresa was born in Murrayville B.C. After growing up in Prince George and Terrace, she moved to Victoria to become part of the community at the University of Victoria, followed by work at the B.C. Legislature, prior to her return to the UVic Law School. Theresa loved people, music, the great outdoors, animals, candles, flowers, the oboe, cooking without recipes, friends, family, dancing, reading, drawing, singing, driving, her grandparents and especially helping others. She will be dearly missed.
A service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday February 17 2001 at the First Metropolitan United Church (932 Balmoral, corner of Quadra and Balmoral) with a reception to follow. A viewing time of the open casket will be available on Friday evening at 7 PM at the McCalls Bros. Funeral Home (1400 Vancouver Street). In lieu of flowers, please donate to one of Theresa's special interests: the environment, animal rights and social justice groups.
