I have many special memories of her, mostly involving how I loved spending time with her. We became friends while working together at the UVIC movie theatre, Cinecenta, although I knew who she was before that.

She was in several of my Russian and Political Science classes. I admired her courage, her intelligence and her ease in articulating her ideas when she was the only student who would challenge the professors while the rest of us cowered, admiring her ability to formulate and express her critiques so quickly and clearly.

I emailed her on Feb. 7th, to ask where she was and what she was up to and to let her know about my life (my choir activities and that I plan to move to my own place in May). On Feb. 8th, her last communication with me, she wrote: "I am fine. In the Bahamas. Working hard. Have had some time off however and went diving. I hope you find a beautiful place to live. Gotta run right now. T."

I am grateful that we were able to spend time together last summer. She had a big impact on my life, I loved her very much and I will miss her terribly.
